There’s an endless number of great recordings to choose from, but here’s a good list of easy-ish solos to start with. Pick music you really like so this is FUN and not a chore. However, as a modernist, I still do have loads of respect for the ABRSM. I had to go out and buy a CD burner because I got rid of all our CD players at least 10 years ago and this book comes with no downloads just CDs :(. Overall I would really reccomend this book for any Student taking their Grade 6-8 Aural Tests in a Music Exam and teachers alike as it has really helpful information for them as well!ĪBRSM are going through a big period of change right now and are struggling a fair bit to get into the current century when it comes to technology. I have now done all the Practice Excercises and can safely say they have really helped improve in my Aural Tests and I will now go into my Exam feeling much more confident about them! The CD for the practice exercises are really clear, telling you briefly about the test (exactly how they would in the Exam) before playing the pieces and telling you the answers. When you get to the syllabus for each grade of Aural test it lays it out really simply then gives you really detailed (yet simple) information for each test before bit by bit teaching you about how to go through that test. The introduction tells you everything you need to know about the contents of the book and helps you with what you need to know and do in the exam. And now I feel far more confident with my aural tests due to this book's Helpful and Easy Layout and Information! Before I got this book I was really struggling with my Grade 6 Aural Tests with only a month before my Grade 6 Exam, so I decided that it might be helpful if I got this book.
